Review:
Wow, what a powerful and fascinating book this was!

I've previously read a fair few books about the US justice system and their prison system, because it's a topic I think is really interesting, but this is easily the best book I've read about the subject. Bryan Stevenson is not only a courageous, intelligent and good man, he is quite the storyteller. Throughout this book, we not only get insight into his cases and the factuality of them, we get to know the people behind the names and we get a chance to connect to them.

This is an absolutely gripping view into the injustice of the justice system in the US and the horrendous consequences it has for those who already have very little. It gives face to the people who are presented to us as statistics and "just criminals" and it gives a really interesting look into where the system completely fails.

This is an absolute must read for everyone; it's captivating and well written, but most of all, thought-provoking.
